Our New Spring Season: Spotlight on the eKO Collection

Our New Spring Season: Spotlight on the eKO Collection

To help find the yoga set-up that suits your individual practice, we’ve organized this season’s collections with the PRO devotee, the eKO lover and the eQua aficionado in mind.

The eKO collection features out signature natural rubber mat (in some fresh new colors), as well as mindful accessories, supportive props and some of the softest cotton pieces you’ve ever put against your skin.

For our spring photoshoot, we recruited Isa Raim (all the way from Copenhagen!) and Raquel Jordan (from our hometown of LA) to show off all that is eKO. Let’s get to know them both a little better, shall we?

HOW IMPORTANT IS ECO-FRIENDLINESS TO YOU WHEN CHOOSING A MAT OR YOGA TOWEL?

Isa: I try to have an awareness of sustainability in everything I do and purchase. Who wants chemicals in their food or on their skin? Our skin absorbs so much when we sweat.

HOW/WHY DO YOU LIKE TO USE PROPS WHEN YOU PRACTICE?

Raquel: Props add another dimension of play and interaction to my practice. I can use props to support, challenge or inform myself on where my body is in space. Props provide “healthy boundaries”, so that I can feel structural integrity within my own body.

HOW DOES ONE DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS/HER MAT?

Isa: Just like having a certain space in your house to return to everyday to reflect, your yoga mat can become that “space” wherever you take it - a sense of home and a recognition of the energy you continuously put into your practice.

Raquel: My mat is my mirror and a representation of the devotion I have to my greater Self. It is on my mat that I am practicing presence, connecting with my body and processing life. Through that, I create memories with my mat and myself that eventually echo out far beyond the yoga mat.

HOW DO YOU STAY MINDFUL WHEN LIFE GETS STRESSFUL?

Isa: I return to my breath, and return to my body. I work on digesting the tension as soon as I feel it, rather then letting it get the best of me.

Raquel: When life gets stressful, I know that it is that much MORE important for me to take time for self care. Simple things like breathing, stretching or sitting in meditation with a hand to the heart can make a world of difference. Yoga teaches me how to stay present at any given moment without being reactionary.
